Dreams on Horseback

The non-profit 501(C)(3) affiliate of Field of Dreams Equine Education Center.  Dreams on Horseback provides experiential learning with horses for disadvantaged and disabled youth through educational programs and equine assisted learning sessions.  During “hands on” activities, youth practice decision making, problem solving, and collaborative work skills and experience the reality of choices, attitudes, and consequences of behavior in a challenging, accepting and supportive environmentDreams uses horses as a medium to foster a strong work ethic, sense of achievement and responsibility, respect for others, assertiveness, anger management, and build self-esteem which result in personal success.

4-H Youth Development

4-H is a non-formal educational, youth development program offered to individuals age 5 and in Kindergarten to 19. Youth participate in hands-on, experiential activities that allow learning by doing. All 4-H programs focus on active involvement and quality experiences which stimulate lifelong learning of values and skills.

Special Olympics of Ohio

The mission of Special Olympics Ohio is to provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  Special Olympics contributes to the physical, social, and psychological development of the athletes. Through successful experiences in sports, they gain confidence and build a positive self-image which carries over into the classroom, home, job and community.  Equestrian is one of the most fascinating sports during the Special Olympics World Games. The balance, the stability and the right communication between the horse and the rider is a key element for success in Equestrian sport.

PATH International

Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), a federally-registered 501(c3) nonprofit, was formed in 1969 as the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association to promote equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) for individuals with special needs. With nearly 4,500 certified instructors and equine specialists and 850 member centers around the globe, more than 7,500 PATH Intl. members help more than 54,000 children and adults with physical, mental and emotional challenges find strength and independence through the power of the horse each year.
